Refined Consign & Design is a new concept and a new adventure in retailing. We have blended an
upscale furniture consignment store with an interior design studio and thrown in a gift and accessories
boutique for good measure. Brenda Thompson brings her many years in retail and her 25 years as a
practicing interior designer, and I (Tom Thompson) bring my many years in the furniture industry to the
table to create a new shopping experience.
Refined Consign & Design is consigning upscale furniture, accessories, and lamps from designer
furniture factories, showrooms, and individual clients from Aspen to Central Kansas to name a few. For
people who are tired of their quality, upscale furniture and want to make a change in their decor or who
are changing their lifestyle, we will consign their furniture and sell it in our beautiful showroom. Now our
showroom is not a dark old warehouse with a lot of old dusty furniture crammed together.....well, you
just need to come and take a look.
First, we steam clean every piece of furniture so buyers can feel confident their furniture is sanitary
and clean. We also fix minor dents and scratches. Then, Kathy (our visual stylist) fusses over every piece
of furniture, wall decor, and lamps to show each piece at its best.We then price the item at less than
half price. The consignor receives 50% of the sale price.
We consign only good quality furniture and accessories and not items that are worn or out-of-date, so,
for example, you can buy a great consigned sofa that someone bought for over $2,000 a few years ago.
You'll pay less than $1,000 at Refined Consign & Design. Many of our items have hardly been used and
all are first quality. If the consigned item doesn't sell in 30 days, the price is reduced 25%, after 60 days
the price is reduced another 25%. The consignment period is 90 days. If the item is not sold within the
90 day period, the consignor can pick it up within 3 days, or the item becomes the property of Refined
Consign & Design. The item will be donated to charity or sold, the net proceeds donated to charity. It is
the consignor's obligation to call or email to ask if their item is sold. We do not contact the consignor
when the consignment period is over.
We are asked if their items qualify as "upscale"....will their items be consigned? The easiest way to find out is to bring pictures of the items to the store or email pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org. Chances are, we will be happy to consign your items. We'll get back to you right away. Please don't bring items to the store until we have had a chance to determine if they will fit in with our merchandise plan.
